If you need to speak directly to the doctor your call may be deferred to the end of the surgery when the doctor will have more time to discuss health matters with you.

Urgent requests for advice during surgery time can be made by asking for the doctor. You will be connected once the doctor has finished consulting.

As the number of requests for appointments and house calls are growing rapidly, the practice in the future may be referring these requests to the practice nurse, nurse practitioner or doctor, who will be assessing their priority and adjusting appointments and consultations appropriately. This is called telephone triage.
