The pharmacy is an National Health Service, NHS contractor and agrees through a service lead contract to provide pharmaceutical services to our customers in the upper Gwendraeth Valley area.
The present pharmacy was established by Mrs Esther Evans in 1965, but a small dispensing practice had previously existed at 13 Waterloo Road in the home or Dr Clutterbuck who was one of the first doctors to set up a practice in the area.
The present pharmacy is situated just a few yards from the village surgery at Penygroes and we have worked closely with the medical practitioners over a long period of time.
The services we provide are agreed by the NHS through the Local Health Board and at present we are developing our care programme in line with the new General Medical Services, GMS New Contract which starts on April 1st 2005.
The new contract doesn’t affect the running of the pharmacy as we have geared ourselves for change over the last few years. We hope that our patients receive the best service that we can provide and we hope to maintain our high level of service over the coming years and will do so in conjunction with our patients and our patient group representatives.
Please visit the various sections of the website in order to get to know the pharmacy and our services. |
